OK, my hat goes off to moms of multiples. ALL moms are my heroes. But after working with these twins, and seeing how much work they are, I am super duper OK with all of my babies coming one at a time.
This darling mother was so worn out. She was working on about 2 hours of sleep EVERY night basically since the little guys were born. We did this photo shoot in their home because she said she would never make it somewhere else to get these precious portraits taken. They also have an almost 4-year-old daughter that loves to “help”, so add that into the equation and it just equals total exhaustion!
But aren’t they the sweetest little things?! They started out both asleep, but then quickly got on their own schedules and one would be sleepy and the other hungry. Then they would switch. Then they were both just wanting to walk or be fed mostly all the time. Wow. It took all of us working together, but we got some WONDERFUL shots of not only the twins, but the whole family.
When dads hold babies, don’t you just MELT? There is something about a tough daddy being so tender with his tiny little baby that just gets ya in the heart.
Each of these babies was around 7 pounds. THAT is a LOT of baby! Even though it is tough now, I hope these sweet boys will be best friends and be there for each other their whole lives. Think of all the tricks they can (and will, I’m sure) play on their teachers and friends. Didn’t you always want an identical twin so you could switch places and have fun like that? I know I did.
This was only my second twin newborn session, and though it was a challenge it was also FUN! I would love to photograph your newborn (one is fine, but I will also accept if you have twins 😉
