Phoenix Birth Photographer | Welcome to the world, Cam!

Birth

As a Phoenix Birth Photographer, and mother of six children of my own, I know that every birth is unique. Even with the same mother, the birth of each of her children could be very different from the others. (that was my case)

But sometimes there can be a pattern when it comes to delivery. This mama is known for her quick deliveries, and baby Cam decided to follow the mold of his big sister.

In fact, this napkin from Jimmy Johns, pretty much summed up her experience delivering Cam: (take note of the freaky fast sticker on there!)

Allie was such a trooper. She decided to get an epidural, and it took and worked very well. She was able to rest and relax in the time leading up to her delivery. (and play some 5 crowns) The decision of whether or not to get an epidural can raise all kinds of debate, but thankfully mothers in the US are able to choose if they want one or not. It’s all up to you, mama! I’ve experienced both with and without and there are pros and cons to either way.

Attending a birth is a great honor. It’s a very private situation to invite other people into, and I don’t take that invitation lightly. Even though it’s my job as a photographer to come into a birth and take photographs, I still consider it a privilege to be invited there.

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.” -Osho
